TOLEDO, Ohio (Dec. 13, 2017) — Don Fike, President of RFMS Racing, has announced that his team will run the full ARCA Racing Series presented by Menards season in 2018 with driver Travis Braden behind the wheel of the No. 27 Ford Fusion. The Brownsburg, Indiana-based team will be headed by crew chief Dan Glauz and car chief Casey Swift. Braden will also provide an additional hand in the shop throughout the year.
“After working with these guys for a month or so last season, I feel pretty blessed to get to join Don (Fike/team owner), Dan and Casey for an entire season and finish what we started in 2017,” said Braden.
Braden subbed in the car in the back half of 2017, coming away with a 4th-place finish at Winchester Speedway, 8th at Kentucky Speedway and 11th at Chicagoland Speedway.
“After the first few weeks, we started to mesh well as a team and really make progress with these cars and finding speed. There’s a lot more we know we can work on and that’s going to be our goal. We have a baseline, and we know what seems to work well and where we need to focus some more attention. We’re adding some new cars and equipment to the stable as well. Things are looking fantastic, and we are chomping at the bit to get the season started.”
Braden, a 2-time ARCA CRA Super Series champion, made headlines in 2015 when he won in his first ARCA Racing Series start at Lucas Oil Raceway. Braden, who holds a bachelor’s degree in engineering from West Virginia University, also won the Winchester 400 in 2016.
RFMS Racing, founded in 1996, has enjoyed considerable success with over 60 wins across the following series: NAMARS, UMARA, USAC Silver Crown, USAC National Midget, BADGER, Infiniti Pro, World Midget Championship, POWRi, and the ARCA Racing Series presented by Menards. RFMS Racing has competed off and on in ARCA since 2004, running the series full-time since 2016.
